Maurizio Zaccardi
Birth: 1955
Born in Parma on October 10, 1955, Maurizio Zaccardi is the creator of several street statues dedicated to figures closely associated with the city, including Arturo Toscanini, Francesco Petrarch, Giovannino Guareschi, and Giuseppe Verdi. His sculptures, realistic in both scale and style, are designed to be placed in the locations where these individuals lived.
An artist recognized both nationally and internationally, Zaccardi has exhibited his works in numerous Italian and foreign cities, particularly in France, Switzerland, Austria, and Mexico. After initially working with stone sculpture, he later specialized in marble and bronze, developing a distinctive technique that combines bronze casting with stone, such as Carrara marble, and Murano glass. Today, alongside his work as a sculptor, he collaborates in the creation of stage sets for musical and theatrical productions. He has received several awards, including the Global Educational Art prize in Genoa and the Master award at the Salon International du Menton Côte d’Azur in France.
